چکیده
Abstract Background Pulmonary metastasectomy was performed in the early twentieth century and ever since, it has evolved to be one of main treatment options for certain metastatic malignancies. The advancement minimally invasive procedures enabled new techniques minimize morbidity improve patient quality care overall outcome. Cases presentation Herein we present three patients, aged 53, 48, 27 years, known have sigmoid, rectal, non-seminomatous germ cell tumors respectively. All patients were diagnosed lung nodules underwent laparotomy excise abdominal followed by trans-diaphragmatic single-port video-assisted thoracoscopic pulmonary metastasectomy. achieved complete surgical tumor excision, none had related complications on follow-up. Conclusion Our prescribed novel surgery (VATS) technique synchronous intra-abdominal resection is safe can achieve with negative margins.

Pain following thoracoscopic surgery: retrospective analysis between single-incision and three-port video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery
BACKGROUND The current trend in thoracoscopic surgery is to use fewer ports to decrease postoperative pain, chest wall paresthesia, and duration of hospital stay. In this study we compared the results of our current experience with single-incision thoracoscopic surgery (SITS) and conventional three-port video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (3P-VATS). METHODS From October 2011 to August 2012, ...

Single-incision thoracoscopic surgery has increasingly attracted public interest and been applied in numerous thoracic procedures. However, single-incision thoracoscopic surgery is associated with requiring subsequent procedures, such as intercostal neuralgia. Herein, we extend the single-port technique of pulmonary metastasectomy through a single subxiphoid approach, and report the first two c...

A 26-year-old Asian male was found to have chyle leakage from the port incision after video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for excision of pulmonary bullae. The diagnosis was confirmed by oral intake of Sudan black and by lymphoscintigraphy. The leakage resolved after 5 days of restricted oral intake and total parenteral nutrition. No leakage recurred after return of oral intake. Possibl...
